Making the BIG Decision
I chose Purdue because it has a great speech pathology program and it offers a lot of resources to students. Purdue is always hosting job fairs, and the Center for Career Opportunities helps students with writing resumes and with the interview process.
How I Got Involved
- American Sign Language Club — treasurer
- Colleges Against Cancer — publicity committee
- National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association
- Alpha Lambda Delta Phi Eta Sigma
- National Society of Collegiate Scholars
Residence Hall Life
I lived in Meredith Hall. I liked it because it was an all-girls residence hall and has the best minimart, the Boiler Crossing. I had a wonderful resident assistant who really made my freshman experience awesome.
Most Memorable Purdue Experience
Getting football season tickets each year. There's nothing like sitting in the student section at a Big Ten football game and cheering on the Boilermakers.
What the Future Holds
I'll be heading to graduate school next fall to become a certified speech-language pathologist. After that, I hope to serve as a speech pathologist working with bilingual Spanish and English speakers. I'd also like to work with children in a hospital setting.
