Making the BIG Decision
I chose Purdue for a number of reasons. The most important was the environment. Purdue was a big school with a lot of exciting opportunities, but it also was a school where I felt I was wanted as a student. All of the students I met loved being at Purdue.
How I Got Involved
- Purdue Student Engineering Foundation — president
- President's Leadership Class, 2001-02
- American Institute of Chemical Engineers
- Cooperative Education Program with DuPont in Tennessee and Texas
- Diabetics United at Purdue — founder and president
- Student Host Organization
- Engineering 104 Mentor
- Boiler Gold Rush — team leader
Residence Hall Life
I lived in McCutcheon Hall. I loved the friendly, open-door environment. We'd all get together for dinner, to watch a movie, or just to hang out.
Most Memorable Purdue Experience
At a luncheon I attended, I got to discuss everything from classes to Purdue football with some of Purdue's most successful alumni. At my table alone, there was an executive vice president for DuPont and two CEOs. It really opened my eyes to where I could go after Purdue.
What the Future Holds
I hope to use my chemical engineering degree in a manufacturing role. Eventually, I aspire to earn an MBA, with the long-term goal of running a Fortune 500 company. |
