Making the BIG Decision
I chose Purdue because I felt something tugging at me to come here. I thought it was Purdue's engineering reputation and the prestige of being an engineer, but I realized what was tugging at me was something different. I came here for the relationships I knew I'd be able to establish. I know that they'll last a lifetime.

How I Got Involved

  • National Society of Black Engineers — vice president and publicity chair
  • The Impact Movement — president
  • Society of Business Engineers — junior chair of community service
  • Varsity Football, 2001-03

Residence Hall Life
I lived in Cary Quad my first year at Purdue. The thing I enjoyed most about Cary Quad was the relationships I established. Although the room wasn't as spacious as I would have hoped, the people and my resident assistant made up for some of the inconveniences.

Most Memorable Purdue Experience

My most memorable moment at Purdue was when the African American community went to the Black Cultural Center and discussed the issues we face every day here. My other most memorable moment was when I played football against Western Michigan. I played about 10 minutes of the game and was extremely nervous. I think I may have even let a pass go by me once, but I made up for it later in the game.

What the Future Holds
Sometime in the future I hope to become a mayor or senator. I want to make sure I do my part to reform the way education is instituted in this country. I want to be able to change the face of education and improve this great nation.
