First-Year Engineering Transfer Criteria  

First-year engineering (the entry point for freshman engineering students) is closed to transfer applicants from other universities for all 2014 academic terms. Students at Purdue regional campuses may apply to First-year engineering; first-year transfer criteria are provided below.


Transfer into First-Year Engineering

To be considered, transfer students interested in entering First-Year Engineering must have completed and earned a GPA of at least a 3.0 (4.0 scale) in the following coursework:

  1. 4 hours of calculus equivalent to Purdue’s MA 16100 or MA 16500

  2. 4 hours of calculus-based general Chemistry equivalent to Purdue’s CHM 11500 or a calculus-based physics course equivalent to Purdue’s PHYS 17200

  3. At least one of the following - Chemistry II (CHM 11600), CS programming (CS 15900), Biology I (BIOL 11000, 11100) or PHYS 17200 (if not used for #2).

  4. A second course from #3 above (preferred) or one of the following: English composition, communications or other humanities course.
