With more than 200 programs to choose from in over 50 countries,
all Purdue students have the opportunity to participate
in study, volunteering, or internships abroad. Academic
credit earned by participants transfers back to Purdue
with grades, allowing students to fit study abroad into
their four-year plan.
Programs vary by discipline, foreign language ability,
and length (from one week to one year). More than half
of the programs have no foreign language requirement.
Students can often go abroad as early as the summer
after their freshman year.
Purdue scholarships and financial aid may be applied
to program fees. In addition, a number of scholarships
related specifically to study abroad are available.
For more information, visit the Programs
for Study Abroad Web site.
Study abroad opportunities also are offered by International
Programs in Agriculture, International Programs in Consumer and Family Sciences, and International
Programs in Veterinary Medicine.
