Students who join one of Purdue’s many learning
communities attend classes together, participate in
activities outside of the classroom, and — for
communities that have a residential option — live
in the same residence. Learning communities range from
those that are specific to a particular Purdue major
to those that relate to broader interests, such as leadership
or world events.
Studies show that students who participate in a learning
community earn higher grades, make friends faster, and
graduate at higher or faster rates than students who
don’t participate.
Admitted students will be invited to apply for one of Purdue's learning communities, which are developed specifically for first-time college students.
