Welcome to Purdue

Welcome to Purdue University, one of America's 25 largest universities.

Since Purdue first opened for classes in September 1874, the University has been dedicated to "making higher education available to the people." Purdue daily continues its efforts to modify both attitudinal and structural barriers to allow students with disabilities full advantage of their right to an education.

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Purdue is working to meet the challenge of improving the accessibility of every campus building. This challenge includes the need to design new buildings as accessible facilities and to modify older structures so that programs and activities are accessible to all.

This guide, which details special facilities such as wheelchair-accessible restrooms, ramps, and elevators, will help those with physical disabilities find their way around campus. The guide also points to the many services available to those with disabilities.
