09/01-- Purdue University students react during the singing of "God Bless America" as a 77-foot wide American flag is unveiled during a Friday (9/14) memorial service at Elliott Hall of Music on the West Lafayette campus. More than 6,000 people watched from locations around campus, and the service also was broadcast over campus television. The memorial service was part of the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance, called for by President Bush, to honor those killed and injured in Tuesday's terrorist attacks in New York City and at the Pentagon.
