03/01-- Stephen Badylak, a senior research scientist in Purdue's Department of Biomedical Engineering, holds a tube-shaped piece of scaffolding material harvested from the urinary bladder of a pig. The material holds promise as a scaffold for the repair or replacement of many different body parts, such as the trachea and esophagus in human patients.
