MobiLAN Wireless Classroom Service Level Offering
(Printable PDF Version)

Introduction
The Wireless Classroom (MobiLAN) is a mobile training cart configured and maintained by SSTA-WT and available for training purposes by any SSTA supported department.

Scope
The MobilLAN has 12 wireless laptops and is available for reservation during normal SSTA-WT business hours. The MobiLAN must remain intact. All parts and pieces of MobiLAN are considered a unit and the laptops cannot be used separately from the unit.

The unit may only be used in Schleman Hall of Student Services. The MobiLAN can be used in any room that has a live PIC. Conference Rooms B-38, 146 and 236 have a live PIC for this purpose.

Training
Users of the MobiLAN must have attended MobiLAN training. Contact zonehelp@purdue.edu to schedule training.

Configuration
The MobilLAN laptops are configured like a standard multifunction desktop. A Career Account username and password is required to login to a laptop. Users not supported by SSTA-WT can login to a laptop with their Career Account credentials. The laptops contain SSTA-WT standard desktop applications.

Please allow one week for installation of additional software if required for your training session.

The unit does not utilize the campus-wide wireless connection. The MobiLAN utilizes a proprietary wireless LAN connection. The access point for the MobiLAN is contained within the unit itself.

Peripherals
The MobilLAN can be configured to print to any SSTA-WT supported printer. Please allow two days for installation.
