As a result of a joint security initiative between SSTA and ITaP to improve the security and manageability of our data network, PICs will now be configured in such a way that a printer and a workstation cannot both use the same PIC. Multiple printers or multiple workstations can share the same PIC by using a network switch (hub), but a mix of printers and workstations cannot be on the same switch (hub).
Therefore it is important to plan for the intended use of the PIC when it is requested. The following information is needed:
