ARMY: Database for Alumni Web Self-Update – Provide a way for Army ROTC alumni to update their own information. This could be developed to be easily used by the other ROTC units, and possibly other organizations.
Business Continuation Plan (annual) – Provide alternative processing ability to support admitting students, awarding aid, assessing fees, creating and modifying schedules, and producing grade reports.
CCO: Post-Grad DB Enhancements – This effort will provide some additional fields and reporting capabilities for their database.
Content Management System – Contribute to a University wide effort to select and implement a new CMS that will become available to allow the distributed management of content contribution to departmental web sites.
Data Retention Analysis, Migration, Archival, and Decommissioning – determine and implement a system to archive the current student data needed to produce point-in-time information for historical and longitudinal reporting.
Decommissioning Legacy Student Applications - Student Legacy Applications housed on the mainframe and in SIS/SIQ will be decommissioned at the appropriate time pending the successful implementation of the ERP (SunGard Banner) Financial Aid and Student Administrative systems.
Desktop Application Upgrades (annual) – Desktop application upgrades will be deployed to desktops supported by SSTA.
Development of Lost Functionality in Financial Aid and other Student areas – This includes self-serve financial aid verification at this time.
DRS: Facility Usage Demographics – This effort would allow DRS to query an extract of card swipe access data that will be combined with demographic information. It will allow analysis to be used in decision making for the facility upgrade project as well as operational management decisions.
DRS: Maintenance Package Investigation – Investigate whether to share, buy, or build a simple equipment maintenance software package.
DSE Guidelines Review – Periodic review of the Direct Student Email Guidelines.
Dubai Campus Support – Participate on committees to support this effort’s technical aspects.
Electronic Alternatives to Sidewalk Flyers – Participating on a University committee to eliminate sidewalk flyers. Will recommend PurduE-Board, the new Student Organization Management System, and myPurdue Student Portal as alternatives.
Electronic Notification Management System – a system to allow the management of student opt-in electronic communication. It will allow targeted communication to student populations; and allow students to select how they want to receive any opt-in communiqués they have selected.

Equipment Life Cycle Replacements (annual) – The annual replacement of computer desktops, laptops, and printers in Student Services with new equipment.
Explore Alternative Solutions for Secure IM – Continue to explore alternatives for a secure way to instant message with prospective students.
Folder Permissions Review (annual) – Lead SSC supported departments in doing an annual shared folder permissions review to meet audit points for secured access.
Functional Coordination of Data Retention and Mainframe Decommissioning – ITaP is leading a legacy systems decommissioning project. Analysis of historical data retention and retrieval needs is essential to decisions for archiving and data access.
Grade Processing Support – Support surrounding the Grade process.
Identity Security Initiatives – Purdue is directing all units on all campuses to discontinue the use of Social Security numbers in all records except those that are absolutely necessary or required by law. Many projects will be undertaken to better secure sensitive data, from an awareness and education campaign to eliminating the use of Social Security numbers in specific systems, file extracts, and reports.
Implementation of EDW - The Banner Enterprise Data Warehouse is an extension of the Banner Operational Data Store providing additional reporting capabilities. The Banner ODS contains current operational data formatted for ease of ad hoc reporting, whereas the Banner EDW contains detailed, historical data transformed into formats to support ease of analytical reporting and analysis. With Banner EDW, Purdue can: Support enterprise-level information needs and complex business analytics such as trend analysis and forecasting; Create consistent reporting definitions and reports; and free valuable IT resources needed to identify, design, develop, integrate, and maintain custom solutions.
Implementation of Enrollment Management Suite - Recruiting and Admissions Relationships is a part of the Banner Enrollment Management Suite, and it will replace the Recruitment Module of Purdue’s SIS for enabling Purdue to target the right students and to deliver personalized interactions with prospects, students and their influencers. It helps build relationships easily and capture the detailed history of every relationship in Banner. With Recruiting and Admissions Relationships, Purdue can: Improve the productivity of recruiting and admissions teams; Successfully handle larger and more diverse prospect pools; Reach out to prospects with more timely and personalized communications; Monitor how prospects are responding; Make informed decisions about campaigns and programs; Deploy secure, personal websites for each prospect using preconfigured web templates that deliver content based on an individual’s interests; and capture important profile information and use it to deliver even more highly targeted content.
Implementation of Upgrade to Banner 8.x – Purdue is running version 7 of SunGard Banner products. SunGard had a general release of version 8 in spring, 2008. Purdue needs to remain current with general upgrades from SunGard.
Implementation of Workflow and Imaging - Banner Workflow is an open, flexible tool that unites processes, information, and people. It automates, simplifies, and directs the flow of information through your entire enterprise. The results are efficient operations, increased automation and visibility, institution-wide consistency, and easy exception handling. With Banner Workflow, administrators, staff, and faculty can access workflows and complete assignments through a standard web browser. Banner Workflow's web interface provides anywhere/anytime access to tasks and lets you customize the presentation template to incorporate your institution's design. Banner Workflow's automated processes allow business events to trigger user notifications, business process logic, external or internal emails, and automated activities. Mundane, low-value tasks can be streamlined and redundancy eliminated. Morale and productivity improve measurably because staff gain time to focus on more strategic activities. The Banner Document Management Suite is specifically designed for higher education and provides imaging, document management, data capture, storage management, and output capture and report management for individual departments and for the entire institution. Banner Document Management Suite is the key to simple information management and the ideal complement to SunGard Higher Education's administrative solutions and Banner Workflow.
Microsoft Vista Analysis & Implementation – efforts related to migrating desktops from Microsoft XP to the next generation OS.
Microsoft Vista and Office 2007 Discovery – Research and analyze Microsoft Vista Operating System and Office 2007 for eventual migration.
Migration to SMARTcomputing Mgmt Tool – SSTA will plan to migrate to the new SMARTcomputing Program’s desktop management tool in time to deploy the Microsoft Vista and Office 2007 desktop environment.
Multimedia Storage Space - A separate share in the exiting SSTA file services storage area will be made available for departments to store and share their Multimedia files.
Network Drive Space Housekeeping (annual) – Lead SSC supported departments in an annual review and cleanup of their shared drive spaces so due diligence was done prior to requesting additional drive space from ITaP.
ODOS: On-Demand Folder Labels – With the migration to OnePurdue, the Office of the Registrar is no longer producing labels that ODOS used for student file folders. This project will give them the ability to print labels on demand based upon a refresh feed from ODS.
ODOS: Span Plan Grant Web Application – This effort will allow applications to be made via the Internet for Span Plan Grants and store them for review and approval.

Online Data Privacy Training and Certification: Phase II - 1) Move the Data Training and Certification database to the SSTA SQL server; 2) Remove display of PUIDs; 3) Enhance reports; 4) Automatically generate email notifications when certifications are about to expire; 5) Other minor modifications needed.

Planning for Mainframe Decommissioning – plan the sequence of activities required to retire the mainframe as OnePurdue goes live.
PyraMED Electronic Health Information – Provide project management consulting and ITaP engagement to add the EHI module to the PyraMED system with the intent to reduce paper flow.
Public SharePoint Rollout – SSTA will administer a public facing SharePoint site for Student Services once the service is provided by ITaP.
Refresh VPSS Web Site per new PMC Approach – Update the VPSS web site by incorporating the same philosophy that PMC just released with the main Purdue web site.
Replace Student Legacy Processes Remaining on Outdated Technology – This includes evening examination schedule at this time.
RightAnswers Knowledgebase Implementation – RightAnswers is a tool that will enable areas to share the knowledge that is currently held in a disparate range of systems, formats, databases and other methodologies. Besides being a repository of knowledge for service desk personnel, it will be source for customer self service. The RightAnswers system will be integrated into each Purdue campus' primary incident ticketing system so that solutions will be readily available. This implementation involves all 4 campuses.
Secure Instant Messaging – a system that will allow secured instant messaging between support staff and prospects/students.
Secure Work Area: Reporting Space Storage – This effort will provide a working file space for areas across campus to share data and create reports from disparate systems.
Service Level Management Review (annual) – Follow ITIL Recommendations on implementing appropriate service level initiatives in SSWT and review service levels annually.
SSN Scanning – Perform regular scans of the supported network file spaces and workstations.
SSTA: SharePoint Site Project DB – This effort will provide SSTA with a project database to track and report upon requested projects; as well as give us experience in SharePoint development to aid in support of our customer areas.
SSTA-WT: Web Form Auto-Create Remedy Tasks – This effort will allow a web site form to auto-create a remedy task and eliminate the manual effort to create them.
Support Rollout of First Full Registration, Grades, Graduation, 1098-T, and Day on Campus – Configure Banner and bolt-on applications and implement functions for these events as they come due in 2008 and 2009.
Update Student Systems Plan (annual) – The Student Services three–year computing plan is updated every six months, in December and July.
USP: Database for STAR Visit Web Form – Add a database for tracking and reporting to the current Day-on-Campus form that is being revised to STAR.
