Please join us for Purdue's Parent/Family Orientation Programs!
This year, we are pleased to offer multiple programs to help you support your incoming Purdue student/s. They are:
STAR 2010
TwoFamily Orientation sessions will be offered daily. Parents and family members who attend the session will have the opportunity to meet other new parents and will participate in discussions surrounding both parent and student transition issues. A brief overview of the session is as follows:
- Welcome by Purdue administrator
- Presentation and discussion of general transition issues
- Current student and current parent panel
- Overview of Purdue resources for parents
Times and locations of the STAR Parent and Family Sessions will be announced closer to STAR 2010.
Boiler Gold Rush 2010
For your convenience, two identical Family Orientation essions will be offered on the Saturday and Sunday of Move-in Weekend.
- Saturday, August 14, 3:30 PM, Elliott Hall of Music
- Sunday, August 15, 3:30 PM, Elliott Hall of Music
*August 14 and 15 are move-in days for Boiler Gold Rush (BGR).
BGR staff members will be available in each residence hall to escort you to these sessions.
This is your chance to:
- Learn more about what you should expect in the next few months as your relationship with your student changes and evolves.
- Ask questions of an expert panel representing various departments from across campus.
- Find out what campus resources are available to you and your student.
- Feel better about your student's transition to Purdue and your transition to being part of the Purdue family!

Parking
For your convenience, we recommend that you park in the garage at Third and University Streets. Parking is free on the weekends.
