How can I meet people?

There are several ways to meet people on campus and in the community. Talk with people who sit near you in class, contact your campus religious organization, or participate in activities at the Recreational Sports Center (RSC) such as intramural sports. Your Resident Assistant can tell you about programs and activities in your residence hall. To find information on Purdue’s more than 800 student organizations, visit the Office of the Dean of Students and pick up the  Getting Involved at Purdue booklet.

What do students do on the weekend?

A variety of plays, intercollegiate athletics, lectures, concerts, intramural contests, and other University-sponsored events are always available. Clubs, organizations, and residence halls also arrange weekend activities. Students can visit a variety of parks, museums, and other local attractions. Purdue students may even budget some weekend study time. For more information regarding things to do in the community, consult Purdue University’s Visitors’ Guide for the West Lafayette Campus.

What religious activities are offered at Purdue?

Student religious foundations and organizations, in cooperation with the churches and synagogues of the Lafayette-West Lafayette area, offer a creative and varied spiritual ministry and welcome your participation. Consult the booklet Nurturing the Spirit, available from the Office of the Dean of Students, for specific information and read The Exponent for activity notices.

How can I get involved in recreational sports?

Students looking for general exercise, the competition of intramural sports, and other athletic opportunities head for the Recreational Sports Center (RSC) and Boilermaker Aquatic Center (AQUA), located at the corner of Third Street and Martin Jischke Drive. The Division of Recreational Sports (DRS) is committed to offering a wide range of intramural sports, club sports, informal (drop-in) sports, and fitness/wellness services. Full-time students can access the facilities without charge, though there is a small fee for some intramural participation. Visit www.purdue.edu/RecSports for more information.

How can I buy football and basketball tickets?

Information about purchasing football tickets should have been mailed to you during the summer with your tuition invoice. Information regarding basketball tickets will be available early in the fall. There is a charge for student tickets for both football and basketball games. If you have questions or are interested in purchasing tickets, contact or visit the ticket office in the Intercollegiate Athletic Facility.
