What makes Purdue Promise unique?

Four full-time professional staff members and a group of specially trained student leaders will assist eligible students who elect to take part in the Purdue Promise Program. The combination of grant aid, staff attention, and support services make Purdue Promise one of the strongest Twenty-first Century Scholars support efforts in Indiana. In addition to the grant assistance, the Purdue Promise support program includes components such as:

  • A college course focused on success at Purdue;
  • Orientation programming and learning community opportunities;
  • Leadership and volunteer opportunities;
  • Tutoring/Study tables;
  • Mentoring by upper-level Purdue students as well as faculty and staff from across the campus;
  • Social and cultural activities;
  • Electronic communication and updates; and
  • Family college transition support initiatives.

Because this kind of support is so essential to a student's success at Purdue, participation in the support program is required to receive Purdue Promise funding.
