Proposal Coordination for Large Proposals
OVPR staff and contract proposal coordinators assist faculty with the development of
proposals meeting certain criteria. Such proposals should have a minimum budget of $1 million and include investigators from more
than one department. If you have questions about how a proposal coordinator might help your proposal, or would like to request the
services of an OVPR-funded proposal coordinator, please complete the request form on this site, or contact Christine King at

Proposal Coordination services may include:
- Knowledge of sponsor's mission and focus and of all requirements of specific grant competitions.
- Performing background research regarding funding history and priorities of particular competitions.
- Communicating with researchers at other institutions to acquire their relevant funded proposals.
- Participating in all proposal development meetings of principal investigator (PI), Co-PIs, and senior personnel.
- Establishing suggested timeline and process for development of proposals, with agreement of PI.
- Writing non-technical sections of proposals, as well as transitions between technical sections contributed by various
participants.
- Communicating with participants on on-going basis to ensure the team completes all components in a timely manner.
- Assisting in providing graphics support
- Identifying and communicating with others, as needed, to add necessary components (e.g., assessment, outreach, and
minority participation recommendations)
- Working with project coordinators and proposal coordin
ators at partner institutions to develop the best, most
cohesive proposals possible.
