Proposal Coordinators
The Office of the Vice President for Research offers the services of staff and contract proposal coordinators to assist faculty with the development of proposals meeting certain criteria. Such proposals should have a minimum budget of $1 million and include investigators from more than one department. If you have questions about how a proposal coordinator might help your proposal, or would like to request the services of an OVPR-funded proposal coordinator, please complete the request form on this site, or contact Christine King at hcking@purdue.edu

Proposal Coordinators services may include:
- Knowledge of sponsor's mission and focus and of all requirements of specific grant competitions.
- Performance of background research regarding funding history and priorities of particular competitions; communication with researchers at other institutions to acquire their relevant funded proposals.
- Participation in all proposal development meetings of principal investigator (PI), Co-PIs, and senior personnel.
- Establishment of suggested timeline and process for development of proposals, with agreement of PI.
- Writing of non-technical sections of proposals, as well as segues between technical sections contributed by various participants.
- Communication with participants on on-going basis to assure that all components are completed in a timely manner; identification and communication with others, as needed, to add necessary components (e.g., assessment, outreach, and minority participation recommendations)
- Work with project coordinators and grant writers at Purdue and at partner institutions to develop the best, most cohesive proposals possible.
