
The Herbert Newby McCoy Award
The Herbert Newby McCoy Award was established in 1964 by Mrs. Ethel Terry McCoy in honor
of her husband, a distinguished Purdue alumnus.
The McCoy Award is Purdue University's most prestigious research award.
It is awarded to researchers who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues.
McCoy award winners are nominated by their peers and selected by a committee appointed by the
president of the University.

McCoy Award
The McCoy Award is presented at the annual Spring University Honors Convocation.
The Purdue community is invited to a distinguished lecture by the McCoy award winner in the fall and each year after the
lecture a recognition dinner is held in honor of all past McCoy award winners.
