Equivalent, Non-Equivalent & Remedial Course Listings
All academic departments have provided an updated listing of courses, which they consider equivalent, content-wise, to courses offered by their department.
Remedial education as defined by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education is as follows: "courses provided in reading, writing, or mathematics for college students lacking those skills necessary to perform college level work at the level required by the institution; thus what constitutes remedial courses varies from institution to institution."
The term "preparatory" could be used to define a course not pertinent towards degree requirements. The approval to consider a course preparatory is at the discretion of each academic college/school.
A request from an advisor to delete a grade from the graduation index for a course indicated on the attached listings should be submitted for approval through an Academic Record Change, Registrar Form 350.
