Guidance for Determining Need for
Acetylcholinesterase Testing for Pesticide Applications

Persons applying pesticides should be referred to Purdue's occupational physician in the following circumstances:

• Applies organophosphate or carbamate pesticides 3 or more times in any week.
• Applies organophosphate or carbamate pesticide 2 times per week for 3 consecutive weeks

The physician will determine what tests or examinations are required for each individual.
