HEPA Filtered Cabinets

Laminar flow filtered air cabinets, "officially" known as

  • Laminar Flow Clean Benches (HEPA filtered supply air only), and
  • Biological Safety Cabinets (HEPA filtered supply and HEPA filtered exhaust)

and variously called "hoods" (not to be confused with chemical fume hoods, which are not filtered), "clean benches," "transfer hoods," "sterile hoods," "clean boxes" ... are tested, certified and repaired on an annual basis by specialists contracted by Purdue.  Questions about these units should be directed to Rachael DeRudder.

REM will periodically request that you supply information regarding the nature of the use of these units.  The Agent Inventory Form is available here as a PDF file which will be printable from your browser if you have Abode Acrobat Reader version 3 and a printer configured.

Filter changes and filter disposal - what you should know.

Contact Rachael DeRudder if you wish to be mailed a printed copy of the form.
