HOW TO REGISTER STUDENTS FOR THE TEST:
  • All registrations must be made by the department on the test registration form.  We do not accept test registrations directly from students.
  • Only students who have been formally admitted to the Purdue Graduate School are eligible to take the test.  A valid Purdue ID number is required.
  • Please do not schedule students to take the test within 48 hours of their arrival in the country.  Students should have the opportunity to rest and recover from jet lag prior to taking the OEPT.
  • Registrations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.  We are not able to accommodate last minute requests or walk-ins.
  • Remind your student to take the OEPT Practice Test and tutorial at least 24 hours before the scheduled test time.
  • On testing day, students should arrive about 20 minutes early and wait outside the testing lab until asked to enter.  Students will be asked to show their Purdue student ID as they are signed in.

With the transition to the Banner registration system, some new steps are necessary to make sure the students who are most needed for student contact TA positions receive top priority for the course should they not be certified by the OEPT.  Be sure follow the steps below.

  • Important!  Always register students using the attached OEPT Registration form.  Be sure to prioritize your students with an A, B, or C.  See the form for complete instructions.
  • You may send the completed form through campus mail to: OEPT Registration, OEPP, 810 YONG or send it via e-mail to oeptregistration@purdue.edu.
  • When registering via e-mail, always send to: oeptregistration@purdue.edu.
  • There is always a high demand for the fall course.  Schedule the students most needed for student contact TA positions for the August test administration.  Consider scheduling your students who are not immediately needed to teach (coded with a "C") for a test administration later in the semester.
  • If you need assistance, please contact the OEPP program secretary at 49-49380.  Questions about course registration should be directed to the program coordinator, phone 49-49379.
