Lou Ann Hamilton is a Counselor in the Dean of Students Office at Purdue University. Lou Ann graduated from Purdue with distinction in 1991 with a major in Social Work, and earned her Master of Social Work Degree from Indiana University. She came to the Office of the Dean of Students in 2000 after working in the Lafayette community for several years. Her experience includes being a hospice social worker; working as both an in-patient and out-patient mental health therapist; working with the court system developing and leading substance abuse groups and first offender programs; and as a private practice therapist.

Lou Ann is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker; a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers; member of the National Association of Social Workers; and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. At the Office of the Dean of Students, Lou Ann provides students with personal counseling for a wide variety of problems. Her special area of interest is grief and bereavement. She also does career counseling, readmission interviews, and general student services. She is the Chair for the Class of 1937 Scholarship committee and is the advisor for College Mentors For Kids!
