Karen Fraser-Mills is a counselor in the Dean of Students Office at Purdue University. Her responsibilities include personal counseling, career counseling, and academic advising. She received her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from the University of the State of New York (Albany), and her Master's degree from Purdue University in counseling and development. She spent three years at Ball State University as a doctoral fellow in counseling psychology and is continuing her Ph.D. pursuits through an accredited online program. Her teaching dossier includes multicultural counseling and career and life planning. She continues to teach introductory psychology at Ivy Tech State College. Karen has worked with numerous special populations including gifted and talented children, oncology patients, HIV/AIDS patients, and the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender populations. She continues to work with an Indianapolis-based Sex Offender Management program while providing individual and group counseling through her private practice. In addition to being a licensed Indiana Mental Health Counselor, Karen is a National Board Certified Counselor, Certified Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist and Certified Level 1 Alcohol and Drug Abuse counselor. |
