Meet the Staff

Maricela Alvarado is the first Latino Cultural Center director. Alvarado started her position at Purdue University in March 2004. She received a master of education degree at the University of Florida and two bachelor of arts degrees in English and Spanish at Washington State University.

Gilberto Corral Jr, program coordinator, is the most recent addition to the LCC staff and began his position in fall of 2007. He comes to the LCC by way of the University of Wisconsin. There he obtained two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and International Policy Studies, and a minor in Chicano/a and Latino/a Studies. He was also the Student Outreach Liaison for the office of Chicano/a and Latino/a Student Academic Services. He looks forward to helping the LCC to grow and flourish.

Marisol Uribe, business operations specialist, began her position with the LCC in summer 2007. She is working on attaining her degree in elementary education. Uribe coordinates activities that relate to the LCC building functions.

Daniel Lefco, graduate assistant, is in his second year at Krannert School of Management and will graduate with an MBA in May, 2009. His primary concentration is in marketing; his secondary concentrations are in strategy and international management. Daniel also holds a BA in Psychology from New York University. He joins the LCC with a wealth of enthusiasm and a diverse set of professional experiences to draw upon. He has lived and worked throughout the U.S. and Latin America.

Embajadores are also considered LCC staff. They contribute their talents, service, and dedication to the mission of the LCC.
