Dr. Davis was born in Los Angeles, California, and spent her formative years in Forsyth, Georgia. While in high school, she first set her sights on a career in health administration. After completing her BA in political science at the University of Georgia, she began a graduate program at Auburn University, pursuing a master of public administration (MPA) with a concentration in health administration. After graduating with her MPA, Dr. Davis worked for the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Tuskegee, Alabama. During this time she was awarded a prestigious National Association of Community Health Centers fellowship, where she worked as a healthcare administrator for Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation in East St. Louis, Illinois. This work inspired her to pursue her PhD at Indiana University Bloomington in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, where she was a double major in public management and policy analysis. She received a minor in information science from the School of Library and Information Science. Dr. Davis graduated with her PhD in public affairs and is currently pursuing her research interests in network management, social informatics, and policy in the public and nonprofit sectors.
