Dr. Nancy Edwards is an Associate professor and the Director of Graduate programs in the School of Nursing at Purdue University. She earned her AD and BS degrees in Nursing from Purdue University and her MSN from IUPUI. She returned to Purdue for her PhD in Family Studies with a Minor in Gerontology. She then received a MS in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. Her area of research is in older adults with progressive neurological diseases.
Her primary focus is in the area of interventions with adults with dementia. She seeks to understand the care differences of individuals with the various forms of dementia. She focuses on improving quality of life of individuals with advanced dementia through nutritional and physical activity interventions. She is a member of Center on Aging and the Life Course and the Center for the Human Animal Bond.
