Professor Barron is the Loeb Professor of Economics in the Krannert School of Management. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Economics and as Senior Associate Dean of the Krannert School. Professor Barron received his PhD in Economics from Brown University. His current teaching interests include the economics of information and uncertainty. His current research interests are labor economics and contract theory.
Professor Barron has numerous published articles and five books. He has received research grants from the Brookings Institution, the Department of Labor, the National Institutes of Health, the Carthage Foundation, the National Science Foundation, Small Business Administration, and W.E. Upjohn Foundation, among others. Professor Barron has been a consultant to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Small Business Administration, ARCO, Texaco, Shell, Visa International, Amoco, and various law firms.
