Howard N. Zelaznik

Howard N. Zelaznik is Professor of Health and Kinesiology as well as Associate Vice President for Research. He oversees research protections for human research subjects as well as animal research and husbandry. He also works closely with Institutional Biosafety. His research specialty is human motor control. Over the past 15 years he has developed, tested and promoted a theoretical framework to examine issues in human movement timing.

He currently is funded through an NIH project on specific language impairment, as well as an NIH project on the role of physical activity in children with ADHD. He has been a faculty member since 1979. From 1999 - 2004 he was Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts, and in 2011-2012 served as Associate Dean in the College of Health and Human Sciences. In 2009-2010 he served as Chair of the University Senate.
