CDV Renewal Information
- CDV recipients are entitled to a total of 124 credit hours of CDV fee remission at state institutions for undergraduate or graduate study. You can monitor your total hours of CDV usage by logging into the State Student Assistance Commission of Indiana (SSACI) “eStudent” website.
- All the credit hours taken during each term you attend and use CDV will be counted toward your aggregate CDV usage. This includes all W, F, I, N/NP, and S but excludes departmental and advanced placement credits.
- In order to maintain eligibility for this benefit you must meet or exceed the school’s Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy (SAP) and be free of overpayment on student aid and default of federal student loans. For details about Purdue SAP policy visit: http://www.purdue.edu/dfa/all/sap.htm.
- If you plan to use CDV toward summer fees, you must complete the Purdue University Division of Financial Aid (DFA) Summer Aid Request Form, which can be submitted online from February through July at www.purdue.edu/dfa/.
- You must complete a new CDV application whenever you change schools or stop-out of college for more than one year (two semesters).
- The FAFSA must be filed annually in each academic year that you intend to use your CDV benefits. The FAFSA can be filed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. When you complete the application, enter the school code for Purdue West Lafayette, 001825, as your first college choice. When completing the FAFSA application do not report your CVO fee remission as a source of veteran’s benefits.
- FAFSA data is subject to verification upon request of documentation by the school. If selected for verification, all requested documents must be submitted before the fee remission will be credited to your fees. The remission is not retroactive to terms prior to establishing eligibility and submission of all verification documents to the school.
Your CDV award will be reduced or cancelled if you receive other tuition-dedicated aid. If you receive other tuition-dedicated aid that is not provided through SSACI, then your hours of CDV use will be pro-rated based upon the percentage of total fees paid by CDV. |
