EdD, Associate Director, 4-H, Virginia Cooperative Extension,
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. As Virginia's
"head clover", Meadows provides statewide leadership
for over 181,000 members of 4-H throughout Virginia, and is responsible
for the 4-H program in 107 counties and cities and 6 all-year-round
4-H educational centers located throughout the state. He also
served as an elementary school teacher, extension 4-H agent, and
consultant in fund raising in West Virginia and North Carolina.
Meadows completed undergraduate studies in English and History
and an MA degree in educational administration at West Virginia
University, and a doctorate in educational administration from
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
An avid American Civil War buff, Meadows has over 500 books on
the subject in his personal library, and is often called upon
to present talks on a variety of subjects related to this event
in American history. He is a dynamic speaker and has made numerous
presentations on the Civil War to historical associations and
clubs, Civil War roundtables, and a multitude of other groups.
He has conducted over 90 Elderhostel programs on the Civil War,
has led many historical trips to Civil War sites, and is a former
Civil War re-enactor.
Meadows is a True Colors certified trainer, having conducted
over 400 workshops and seminars on this user-friendly personality
traits topic including an outstanding presentation to CMI alumni
in 2000.
