AM, MBA, Independent Consultant based in Nashville, TN. Maddox
received his undergraduate degree in music from Amherst College,
Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Chicago, and
the MBA from Vanderbilt University
Maddox advises universities and non-profit organizations on budgeting,
strategic planning, and business process improvement. He has had
extensive experience in large-scale administrative redesign projects,
cost and operational analysis, financial modeling, and assessment
of business strategies for colleges and universities. His clients
have included Creighton University, the University of Washington,
the Brookings Institution, The Ohio State University, Fordham
University, Bellarmine College, Goshen College, Catholic University,
and Texas Southern University. For four years, he was a manager
in KPMG's Higher Education Consulting practice. Previous to joining
KPMG, he served as Deputy Director of the Budget Office at the
University of Chicago and as a manager in Human Resources at Vanderbilt
University. Most recently, Maddox has become an associate with
the Behrens Hardy Consulting, Inc. of Houston, TX, and an adjunct
consultant with the Center for Nonprofit Management in Nashville,
TN.
Maddox is the author of the book Budgeting for Not-for-Profit
Organizations, published in 1999 by John Wiley & Sons. He
has been a member of the CMI faculty since 1998.
