Catherine L. Lilly, MSW
MSW. Catherine Lilly is the Senior Advisor to the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for the arenas of organization development and strategic human resources. In this role, she serves the senior leadership and the 2800 professional, administrative and union staff in the areas that comprise the Business and Finance division of the University of Michigan . These areas include: Procurement, Business Services, Financial Operations, Treasurer’s Office, Facilities and Operations, Investments, Construction Services, Human Resources, Public Safety and Administrative Information Systems.
As a private consultant, and in the roles of Senior Advisor and/or Organization Development Specialist (which she has held at UM since 1991) she has implemented numerous comprehensive organizational effectiveness programs, including organization-wide strategic planning, performance management, total quality, decentralized human resource management, customer satisfaction and building high-performance cultures through the use of employee surveys. In addition, she has worked extensively with senior teams in the areas of teambuilding, planning, leadership/management development and coaching, organizational communication, change management and diversity. Catherine believes in sharing her organizational learnings and since 1991 has presented at numerous national conferences including NCCI, CUPA, NACUBO, EDUCAUSE, and SCUP. Participants consistently rate her conference and training presentations as “outstanding”, “highly engaging” and “very effective”.
Catherine has traveled extensively, including living in India , Colombia , and Switzerland , and holds two degrees from the University of Michigan . She is also a proud long-term resident of the city of Ann Arbor , Michigan . Most recently, a feature article called “Benchmarking Happiness” written by Catherine appeared in the June 2008 NACUBO Business Officer Magazine.
