New Regulations Governing Use of and Reimbursement for Toll Roads
We have received notice from the State Budget Committee that we may now reimburse the cost of tolls on toll roads for in-state and out-of-state travel performed in state-owned vehicles. A receipt must be furnished evidencing such expense.
When use of toll roads has been authorized (in advance by indication on Transportation Form #1, approved by the department head and the Director of Service Enterprises) on a particular trip, in a state-owned car, cash reimbursement will be made to the driver on presentation of official toll road receipts to our Transportation Service Department.
No reimbursement for tolls or parking charges has ever been authorized for those persons driving their personal cars on University business, so the new regulations will not affect them in any way. In addition, should a driver using his personal car elect to use a toll road within the State at his own expense, he cannot be reimbursed for additional miles in reaching or leaving the toll road.
Please direct any requests for detailed information regarding tolls to Transportation Service, Telephone 92-2493-
