Re: BUSINESS OFFICE MEMORANDUM NO. 60
New Regulations Governing Use of and Reimbursement of Toll Roads
We have received notice from the State Budget Committee that we may now reimburse the cost of tolls on toll roads outside the State of Indiana when travel is performed in State-owned vehicles and when a receipt is furnished evidencing such expense.
This means that there will be no reimbursement for tolls incurred within the State of Indiana. In addition, should a driver elect to use a toll road within the State at his own expense, he cannot incur additional miles in reaching or leaving the toll road.
When use of toll roads out of State has been authorized (in advance by indication on Transportation Form #1, approved by the department head and the Director of Service Enterprises) on a particular trip, in a State-owned car, reimbursement will be made to the driver on presentation of official toll road receipts to the Transportation Service.
No reimbursement for tolls or parking charges has ever been authorized for those persons driving their private cars on University business, so the new regulations will not affect them in any way.
Please direct any requests for detailed information regarding tolls to Service Enterprises, Telephone 92-2791.
