Hotel Reservations - Personal Expense
Please refer to Comptroller's Office Memorandum No. 22, dated 9 December 1953, subject same as above. Again, I must remind you that the rules and regulations covering travel specifically state that telegrams and telephone calls reserving hotel accommodations are a personal expense and are considered a part of the per them paid to an individual for travel. This office continues to receive charges, made by individuals against University funds, which should be paid by individuals.
This situation continues to be embarrassing to the Business Office and to the individuals involved. I again solicit your assistance in bringing this matter to the attention of individuals in your department who have occasion to travel on official business for the University.
