Social Security

This is to remind you of the Social Security Referendum scheduled for 5 August 1955. The referendum by secret written ballot will be held at the Executive Building, first floor, main lobby, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, between the hours of 9:30AM (CST) and 6:oopm (CST).

All staff members actively participating (contributing) in the T.I.A.A. retirement system on both 26 April and 5 August, and who are non-participants in the Federal Civil Service Retirement System on 5 August, will be eligible to vote in the referendum. Staff members contributing on a ten installment basis will be considered active participants, even though contributions are not made during the, summer, except in the case of those resigning or retiring prior to 5 August.

If you have requested and received a mail ballot, be sure to mark the ballot and mail it in time to arrive before the closing hour on 5 August. The instructions sent to you with the mail ballot should be followed closely.

Those of you who have not requested a mail ballot are urged to vote in person at the appointed time and place.

Be sure to cast your ballot in the referendum. Remember, failure to vote is an Automatic Negative Vote.
