Re: BUSINESS OFFICE MEMORANDUM NO. 26
Accommodating Guests in Residence Halls
From time to time Directors and Managers of the Residence Halls receive requests to provide accommodations for guests. In view of the fact that the Residence Halls are already accommodating greater numbers of students than originally intended and in view of ever increasing operating costs, it is necessary to review the policy with respect to accommodation of guests in our Residence Halls.
In the future, guest accommodation requests by departments will be considered only if accommodations are not available in the Purdue Memorial Union. Requests for guest accommodations for any department of the University must have prior approval of the President's Office and/or the Business Office.
Residence Halls at Purdue University are constructed without financial assistance from the State. All operating costs are borne by the residents. The Halls are intended to provide accommodations that will add to the total educational experience of the students. Your cooperation will be appreciated in order that the Halls may fulfill the purposes for which they are intended at a minimum cost to the residents.
