  4. Sales will be restricted in scope to the members of the sponsored, nonprofit group.

  5. Sales will be restricted in location to non-public areas specifically assigned for this activity. A specific space-use charge will be assessed by the Division of Conferences, and this charge will never be less than the University's related direct costs. If such space and any equipment or other services related to the sales activity are arranged for by the Division of Conferences with the Purdue Memorial Union, these arrangements will be in accordance with the provisions and charges set forth in the Purdue Memorial Union and Stewart Center "Exhibit Policy".

The Director of Continuing Education Administration must obtain prior written permission from the Director of University Residences and Purdue Memorial Union for all sales conducted in the Purdue Memorial Union or Stewart Center, or from the Director of Purchases and Stores for all sales to be conducted in or on any other University facility.

The permit may limit the time, place and/or manner of such canvassing, peddling or soliciting and such limitation may be amended from time to time at the discretion of the Director. Permits issued to recognized charitable, religious and educational groups may be without charge if, in the opinion of the Director, a waiver of the permit fee is warranted.

Any permit issued pursuant to these regulations shall be subject to revocation in the event of a violation of the terms of the permit regarding time, place, or manner of canvassing, peddling or soliciting, or in the event of a violation of these regulations or any other University regulation now in effect or hereafter adopted. In cases of repeated or flagrant violations, the firm which the violator or violators represented may be banned from peddling, canvassing, soliciting or delivering on the campus.

8.05     Identification of Applicants. Any person authorized to issue permits under these regulations may delay the issuance of any permit until the applicant has produced satisfactory evidence that he is an authorized representative of the firm he purports to represent. In any case where the issuing authority deems it necessary, direct inquiry may be made with the firm an applicant purports to represent prior to the issuance of the permit.

8.06     Disclaimer. The issuance of any permit under these regulations in no way implies University endorsement of any product, service or cause and representation to the contrary, express or implied, shall be cause for immediate revocation of permit.

8.07     Execution of Regulations. The Vice President and Treasurer shall be responsible for the execution and enforcement of these regulations through the appropriate University channels.

Article 9 - Amendments

9.01     Amendments by Vice President and Treasurer. The Vice President and Treasurer is hereby authorized to amend these regulations during intervals between meetings of the Board of Trustees and such amendments shall be effective unless rescinded by the Board of Trustees.
