Married name: Alisha Kuckartz

Husband's name: Jacob Kuckartz Children: Hannah Noel Kuckartz

Current occupation: Academic Advisor in the School of Liberal Arts at Purdue and Purdue Band Auxiliary Director

Past jobs/life situations that have contributed to the richness of my life: The birth of my daughter in 2003, my marriage and my 13 years of work in the inspirational field of education.

Hobbies/passions that I enjoy: Dance, baton twirling instruction, live performances such as theater and musicals, and family.

Still involved in twirling? Yes, I have the fortunate opportunity of working with the Purdue solo twirlers and twirling line every year. I also teach baton twirling lessons.

What made/makes the Golden Girl position so special: I see the Golden Girl as an ambassador for Purdue University. The position is known throughout the country; therefore, the fortunate women who serve in the position have much responsibility to be the best they can be both in performance venues and in the classroom. To be one of 24 women who have helped shape the 50-year tradition is a special honor.

How being Golden Girl has shaped/impacted my life beyond Purdue:

In addition to providing the opportunity to twirl for thousands of Boilermaker fans, performing as the Golden Girl offered life skills such as flexibility, discipline, confidence and teamwork. I have found these to be important in all facets of my life.

Favorite memories from being Golden Girl: At my last home football game as a graduating senior, I was asked to conduct the entire marching band for "Hail Purdue" during our postgame performance on the field. When Dr. Leppla asked me to do this, I felt extremely honored. The opportunity was exciting and inspiring!

I was able to do a routine with Purdue Pete at one of the men's basketball games. The song was titled "My Man" which allowed creative choreography. It was great working with Pete!
