MICHAEL J. PLAKE , Bands' Graduate Assistant, serves as an Assistant Director of the 'All-American" Marching Band, Basketball Bands, and directs the Volleyball Band. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1983, and received his bachelor's degree in Music Education from Butler University in 1987. He began playing the tuba professionally in 1984 when he was asked to be a founding member of the Capital Brass Quintet, and since then has performed or soloed with numerous ensembles. Additionally, in 15 years as a band director he has directed or assisted groups that have won four state championships in marching, concert, and jazz. |
