I'm involved in: Night Train - Swing Dance Club, Boiler Steam,
Society of Women Engineers, Kappa Delta Pi- Education Honors Society, Education Organizations Board, math tutor
In my spare time, I: swing dance, hang out in the Union at Starbucks, watch movies, read, and sing
Dream job: Be a teacher who makes a difference and shows kids their potential
Favorite local restaurant: Tough decision... Chipotle for burritos; next is Hot Box for pizza and breadsticks (with cheese sauce!)
Favorite pig-out food: Chocolate brownies
Most memorable Purdue experience: Being in the Swing Dance club and meeting tons of awesome people I would not have met otherwise!
When I feel like spoiling myself, I: go to the mall and buy a new outfit, new shoes, or both
Favorite book: Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind
Acquaintances would be surprised to know: I enjoy singing classical and pop music
Favorite cartoon character: Bugs Bunny; he was funny, but with a witty kind of humor
I'm inspired by: People who are happy doing what they do
Why I chose Purdue: I went to all small schools before I came to Purdue. It was close to home but still far enough for a fresh start and a needed big change.
Best-kept secret about Purdue: I don't know if it's really a secret, but with Purdue being so big it seems overwhelming at first. However, I personally feel that if you can find something to connect to on campus, whether it be community service, joining a fraternity/sorority, a dance club, a religious group, or any of the hundreds of organizations Purdue has, if you have that connection, Purdue really can feel like your home away from home.
